We are beyond the birth narrative and about to discover how Jesus' ministry began. The ministry of Jesus began with the prophetic ministry of John the Baptist. John was out in the wilderness baptizing Jews who wanted to repent and renew covenant with God. Jesus participated in the revival led by John and then he took it to a whole new level. John prepared the way but Jesus led the way. As we read through Matthew 3 look for the elements of surprise, redemption and transformation to appear.
