Sermon Title: Relating as Salt and Light
Text: Matthew 5:13-42

Our Theme for 2025 is “Live Like Jesus.” It comes out of a simple desire to follow Jesus - and to learn better what that means. Jesus casts a different vision of what life really is and how it is meant to be lived. We are going to spend this year in the gospel of Matthew. Jesus is going to turn everything you think you know about life upside down - and that is how we learn to live like Jesus.

Given what Jesus says about how we should live and what He demonstrated in His own life, death and resurrection; we will find that the way Matthew tells the story of Jesus is meant to introduce us to the renewed life that we have in Christ. But what does that actually look like? How do we relate differently, to God, to ourselves, and to others because of who we are becoming in Christ. How do you explain to a caterpillar who only knows how to crawl, what it means to fly? First of all, don’t be too hard on yourself, its a process! But it is a process that we should be engaged in - letting God transform us by transforming how we relate.
