Good Morning Spring City Fellowship!
Series Title: The Book of James: Faith that Works
Sermon Title: Somos Familia - We are Family
Text: James 2:1-13
I am calling this series on the Book of James, “Faith that Works.” The Christian life is lived at the intersection of faith and works. It is not a choice between faith and works. It’s both, not one or the other. Faith has to work. It’s not enough to believe it, you have to do it. It has to change you in fundamental ways so that you embrace transformation. Growing in faith is also a process, and you practice it until you become who you were meant to be.
This morning we have a report of Restored Church of Pottstown's recent trip to Honduras to work with Healthy Niños, an organization that's primary purpose to identify and then work to reduce malnutrition in Honduran children. Faith that works often means getting out of our comfort zone and serving people whom we might not otherwise have anything in common, except that they are our brothers and sisters in Christ. James talks about honoring and taking care of the poor. This morning's message is an illustration of how one group of people did that.
