Good Morning Spring City Fellowship!

Series Title: The Book of James: Faith that Works
Sermon Title: Wisdom From Above
Text: James 3:13-18

I am calling this series on the Book of James, “Faith that Works.” The Christian life is lived at the intersection of faith and works. It is not a choice between faith and works. It’s both, not one or the other. Faith has to work. It’s not enough to believe it, you have to do it. It has to change you in fundamental ways so that you embrace transformation. Growing in faith is also a process, and you practice it until you become who you were meant to be.

This morning we are going to talk about wisdom from above. What is wisdom? Biblical wisdom encompasses far more than intellectual knowledge—it represents a comprehensive capacity to navigate life skillfully according to God’s standards. Wisdom is not just knowing things - it is knowing what to do with what you know. Wisdom teaches us the best way to live - and then trains us with the disciplines to actually do it. Wisdom is what makes the difference between the negative spiral and the positive one. The wise person knows which end is up and they put God at the center of everything!
