Serving God is a matter of devotion - it’s not just something you do - it’s all encompassing. It defines you and gives meaning and purpose to your life. There are people who follow Jesus, meaning that faith in Christ has some place of importance in their life; and then there are people for whom their entire life is devoted to serving God. I’m going to try to convince you this morning that the latter is what it really means to live like Jesus. My hope is that as we read this passage in Matthew’s gospel we will rekindle and renew our devotion to Jesus Christ.
