Title: Visions of God's Purpose (Part 2)
Text: Zechariah 3:1-4:14

Today we return to our sermon series in the OT book of Zechariah called "visions of Hope.  " Zechariah was a priest who returned from exile to help rebuild the temple in Jerusalem.  Zechariah’s visions gave the people hope that God’s ultimate purpose is to restore.  His vision was not just about the second temple and the people of his day.  His prophecies pointed ahead to a time when God’s Spirit would indwell His people.  When the people of God would become the temple of God.

God assures us through His Word that His purpose is to restore all things.  Sometimes we may be tempted to think that God’s plan has little or nothing to do with us.  We may think, “God is God and He can do whatever He wants!”  What God wants is to work through His people, to empower us with His Spirit, and to accomplish His purpose both in us and through us.
