Text: Joshua 13:1-15:63

We are going to be looking at the characters and the circumstances that God used to instill courage in His people.  Each week is a different story about how someone overcame impossible odds and what we can learn from it.  A few are actually stories of defeat, but they can still be courageous stories if we will learn from them.

Today we want to focus especially on Joshua and Caleb and finishing well.  A quick study of biblical characters will show many who started well but didn’t necessarily finish as well as they started. We have numerous recent examples of national ministry leaders, with seemingly great track records, where scandal was revealed after many years of successful ministry. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you have accomplished already for God; life is a marathon, not a sprint.
